Kumbh Mela Tour – River of Humanity

Kumbh Mela is one of the Biggest and most popular festivals of India. We recommend this festival to most of our Guests. It is a great Photographic opportunity for people who have high interest in culture and traditions. Originally Four places are considered for the Kumbh mela:

  • Haridwar Kumbh Mela 
  • Allahabad Kumbh Mela
  • Nashik – Trimbakeswar Simhasta
  • Ujjain Simhasta

The Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years . At Haridwar and Allahabad a Half or Ardh Kumbh Mela is held every six years and the Great or Maha Kumbh Mela occurs every 144 years. The Kumbh Mela is considered to be the largest congregation of pilgrims. The great Kumbh mela at Allahabad had a record breaking 120 Million pilgrims that visited Allahabad during the festival.

Arrival - Transfer to Tents

Our representative meets you at the Airport . On arrival you are transfered to the tented accommodation near the river banks. Lunch and dinner will be served inside the tents. Overnight inside the tents

Day 2: Full day explore the Kumbh Mela Ground

The whole day you are free to move around the Mela Ground. Millions of pilgrims visit the Mela to take a dip in the sacred river. You will meet many Naga & Aghori Sadhus on this day. Return back to the tent in the evenning . Dinner will be served . Happy sleeping

Day 3: Full day explore the Kumbh Mela Ground

The crowd keeps pouring in. The mega event is a photographers paradise. Charge your batteries and carry those extra memory cards. You do not want to miss a single opportunity. Explore the Mela ground to click pictures of a life time. Return back to the tents. Happy Sleeping.

Day 4: Witness one of the “SAHI SNAN” or Grand Bathing Dates

The mega event date. We recommend you move to the Mela Grounds in the early hours to take your strategic location. Thousands of Sadhus with swords , spears and other weapons will come running and take a dip in the holy waters , you will not want to miss this fantastic opportunity , it is a once in a life time affair . This will be followed by the other pilgrims who will also take the Great Dip. Return back to tent. Happy sleeping.

Day 5: Departure from Tents to Airport

After Breakfast , Our driver will transfer you in time to the nearest Airport.

  • It is one of the grandest festivals in India and their are chances you may get lost in the fair grounds . In such case meet the nearest police station and ask directions for your tents
  • A lot of people draws a lot of pickpockets , keep a watch of your pockets.
  • If your tents have lockers , its advisable to leave your valuables there .
  • On the date of the Sahi Snaan or Great Bath , try to reach the bathing ground in the early hours to take a vantage point .
  • Most of the Sadhus don’t like to be photographed , please take prior permission
  • Please carry a bottle of Mineral water with you always
  • Avoid places of high crowd density , stay at places where it is free to move about.
